Thank you!

Utah’s 2010 Census mail participation rate exceeded the national response rate and the overall year 2000 rate for Utah. An outstanding 73% of those that received their form filled it out and mailed it back! Even better, the rate for South Ogden residents is 76% compliance!
We’re not done yet. Almost ¼ of our households have not yet responded—some had not received it, some lost it, some avoided it, some sent it in late, some left it incomplete…
Everyone needs to be counted! Soon local Census workers (a neighbor) may visit your residence and ask the same questions that were on the Census form. Please cooperate with him or her. Provide or verify the data and help us get our congressional representation, our fair share of over $400 billion in federal funds and a clear picture of our world—Utah towns, cities and counties.
The census is to be a count of every person residing in the United States on April 1st (citizens and non-citizens alike). Most residents got it in the mail and sent it back March thru April 16th. Thank you! Some will receive a visit in the coming months to be counted in person or asked to reconfirm data previously gathered.
The 2010 Census: It’s Safe…It’s Easy…It’s Important!

What’s in it for me?

Congressional seats and local representation, data for decisions to provide local community services, over $400 billion in federal funds to local, state and tribal governments each year.

COOPERATE WITH THE 2010 CENSUS
Federal law protects all personal information for 72 years!
Counting all people as of April 1, 2010, at their usual residence, where they lived and slept most of the time.
Utah residents count!

South Ogden Animal Care facility located at 5594 S. 600 E. (South Ogden City Public Works complex off Adams Avenue). The shelter offers services to South Ogden, Uintah and Riverdale residents accepting stray animals as well as owner surrenders for a $25.00 fee. We are not staffed during working hours so please call before you come to schedule a time to meet.

South Ogden Animal Services will attempt to find homes for healthy, non-aggressive, adoptable companion animals so if you are looking to adopt a forever companion, give us a call to make an appointment. We vaccinate, microchip and include a voucher for a deposit on spay/neuter with our adoptions. We can also microchip pets you may already have for $15.00. Microchipping is the best way to make sure your pet always has their phone number with them, and proves ownership.  All dogs in South Ogden must have a current license. To purchase your license please log on to www.petdata.com
To register an animal control complaint, or any other animal control/adoption related issue or to volunteer please call 801-622-2949. If you need immediate assistance, contact dispatch at 801-629-8221.

South Ogden has cat/raccoon traps for a deposit of $45.00. The deposit is refunded when the trap is returned in good working condition. South Ogden charges $50.00 to remove skunks or raccoons from the traps.

South Ogden City has a wonderful new off-leash dog park located behind Shopko on Palmer Drive. Weather permitting, the park opens in April and will generally close Nov 1st. Please observe the park rules when enjoying the dog park.
